MP Nadiya Savchenko has said on the air of Hromadske TV that an agreement on an exchange of prisoners 1:4 has been reached between pro-Russian militants in Donbas and Ukraine.

"We agreed that namely this number of people can be exchanged. According to lists, there are 226 on the Ukrainian side and 52 people on the side of separatists," she said.

The MP explained that this number of alive hostages has been confirmed.

Earlier, Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup at the Minsk talks on Donbas, Iryna Herashchenko, said that a video conference of the contact group on an exchange of prisoners did not take place.

On 7 December, Donetsk militants refused to exchange prisoners under the "42 for 228" formula.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine said that 27 Ukrainian servicemen taken captive by the militants defected and are now fighting against the antiterrorist operation troops.
