Over the past day, the Russian-backed separatist forces 47 times shelled the positions of the Ukrainian military in all sectors in the zone of the antiterrorist operation in the Donbass, the ATO press center said in a 20 December release.
The hottest spot was the Mariupol sector, where Shyrokyno and Vodyane were shelled with 122-mm artillery. Shyrokyno, in addition, was shelled with 120- and 82-mm mortars, IFV and tank weaponry. The positions of the governmental troops in the areas of Novotroyitske, Maryinka and Talakivka was under mortars fire
In the Luhansk sector, the terrorists pounded ATO positions outside Krymske with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, while Novooleksandrivka, Lobachove, Krymske and Stanytsya Luhanska were attacked with rocket-propelled grenades. An enemy sniper was active in the area of Stanytsya Luhanska.
In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired 122-mm artillery and 82-mm mortars at Luhanske. Avdiyivka and Zaytsevo were under the fire of enemy mortars of various calibres and rocket-propelled grenades.
