Six Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas on 7 January, the Defence Ministry's spokesperson for ATO issues, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, has said. Three were wounded as a result of a mortar attack near Troyitske, Luhansk Region and another three as a result of an enemy provocation near Krymske, Luhansk Region.
The ATO HQ said in its morning update that in the Mariupol sector, the occupiers fired with 122-mm artillery on Vodyane and with mortars of various calibres on Maryinka, Pavlopil, Shyrokyne and Talakivka. They used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms against Pavlopil, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Hnutove, Starohnativka, Vodyane, Talakivka and Shyrokyne.
In the Luhansk sector, they fired with mortars of various calibres on Troyitske and Novooleksandrivka and with grenade launchers and small arms on Lobacheve, Novooleksandrivka, Krymske, Stanytsya Luhanska and Novozvanivka.
In the Donetsk sector, they fired with 82-mm mortars and infantry fighting vehicle guns on Troyitske and with grenade launchers and small arms on Pisky, Avdiyivka, Mayorsk, Novoluhanske and Luhanske.
A total of 72 fire attacks have been registered.
