Since the beginning of 16 January, pro-Russian militants carried out 17 attacks on the positions of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) forces in Donbas, wounding one Ukrainian serviceman, the ATO press centre has said.
"The enemy continued targeting our positions in all sectors," the statement reads.
In the Mariupol sector, the militants fired with grenade launchers and small arms on Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodyane, Krasnohorivka and Shyrokyne.
In the Luhansk sector, they fired with grenade launchers on Novozvanivka.
In the Donetsk sector, they fired with grenade launchers on Luhanske and Myronivske.
The trilateral contact group on a Donbas settlement had its first meeting in Minsk this year on 16 January.
