British instructors in 2015 have trained more than 3 thousand Ukrainian servicemen, Ukraine's Defence Minister Stepan Poltorak told reporters in 20 January.
"Since March 2015, more than 80 British instructors are involved in the provision of military training. In the framework of the Orbital operation, they have trained over 3 thousand members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 29 more courses in different fields are scheduled to be held in the first half of 2017," Poltorak said as quoted by his press office.
Poltorak thanked the UK Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon, who is on visit to Ukraine, for the quality work of British instructors and informed his counterpart about the decision to extend this training to almost all types of Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, Fallon has appointed the former commander of the Land Forces of the UK Armed Forces Gen. Nick Parker as special adviser for Poltorak.
