From midnight to 6 p.m., pro-Russian militants carried out 40 attacks on the positions of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) forces, wounding one Ukrainian serviceman, the ATO HQ said in its regular evening update on Facebook on 5 February.

They used tanks, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms against the ATO positions near Avdiyivka.

Also in the Donetsk sector, they fired with tanks on Pisky and Kamyanka, with mortars of various calibres, grenade launchers and small arms on Zaytseve, Opytne and Luhanske. A sniper was active near Nevelske.

In the Mariupol sector, they fired with mortars on Krasnohorivka, Vodyane, Shyrokyne and Hnutove, with grenade launchers and small arms on Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Lebedynske and Novotroyitske. Snipers targeted Hnutove and Pavlopil. Shyrokyne came under fire from infantry fighting vehicles.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars on Katerynivka, with grenade launchers and small arms on Krymske. Enemy infantry fighting vehicles carried out repeat fire attacks on Krymske. Snipers were active near Krymske and Zhovte.
