The State Service for Food Safety and Customer Protection registered seven cases of African swine fever in Odesa, Kherson, Cherkasy, Rivne and Sumy regions from 9 to 16 July, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
Local authorities and anti-epizootic commissions held a meeting to work out identify the affected areas as well as measures of prevention and monitoring.
Efforts are being taken to limit and prevent the spread of the virus.
The virus causes a lethal haemorraghic disease in domestic pigs and wild hogs.
