A search and rescue group has recovered the bodies of two pilots from a Su-27UB jet of the Ukrainian Air Force, which crashed at around 5 p.m. local time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces has reported on Facebook.
The incident happened during a combat training flight near the village of Ulaniv between the towns of Berdychiv and Khmilnyk in Vinnytsya Region.
The Clear Sky international aviation exercise is being held in the region these days.
Details of the case are being checked.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine expressed condolences to the families of the killed pilots.
UPDATE: The US Air Forces in Europe said it is "aware" of the incident.
"We have seen reports claiming a US casualty and can confirm a US service member was involved in this incident. It is currently under investigation and we will continue to provide more information as it becomes available," it said.
