President Petro Poroshenko has said that Vladimir Putin's visits to Crimea will not make the peninsula Russian.
He was commenting to Putin's visit to Yalta to attend a meeting of the Russian State Council today.
"We are considering these visits of the Russian president to be a flagrant violation of international law. I want to make a separate point that these visits – and let them in Russia hear us – will not make Crimea Russian. Crimea is Ukraine. It has been and will always be," Poroshenko said at a joint briefing with Slovak President Andrej Kiska.
He added that sanctions on Russia would stay until the situation changes.
Last time Putin visited occupied Crimea on 4 August.
