President Petro Poroshenko has dismissed the first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, Oleh Hladkovskyy.
"Last week there was a journalist investigation based on a leak from law-enforcement agencies about possible abuses in defence procurement. It caused a wide public outcry. Society wants and has the right to know the truth. Everyone wants to know the truth and I, as president, also want to know the truth. So now all the conditions have been created for this. This morning, before flying to Mykolayiv, I signed a decree to dismiss Oleh Hladkovskyy from the post of the first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defence Council. He is also dismissed from the post of the head of the interdepartmental commission on military-technical cooperation and export control," he said at a regional development council meeting in Mykolayiv.
He added that this does not mean that Hladkovskyy has been proven guilty.
