Coronavirus
Ukraine has reported a total of 1,308 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 37 lethal cases, by 10 p.m. on 5 April. Twenty-eight have recovered.
A man with coronavirus who attempted to run away from a hospital in Chernihiv Region on 4 April died the next day, the regional police have said.
The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery has been closed for quarantine since 4 April, that is services are held without the participation of the parish and pilgrims. Metropolitan of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl Pavlo, as well as other priests, got tested for coronavirus. Initially, he called the pandemic a "payment for sins".
Chornobyl fire
Firefighters have put out a fire which broke out near the village of Volodymyrivka in the Chornobyl exclusion zone on 4 April. They used aircraft and helicopters to dump water on the burning forest. They have managed to localise the fire in three hotbeds on the area of 25 ha. The radiation level is within the norm.
