The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has suggested that pro-Russian authorities in occupied Luhansk Region have been hushing up information about the local outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
"According to the SBU, 13 people with Covid-19 signs have died in Luhansk and Kadiyivka [formerly Stakhanov]. But the local population does not have reliable information about the situation in the region and is exposed to mortal danger," the SBU said on its website.
There are allegedly 10,000 people with acute respiratory infection who have no proper treatment, the SBU added.
It opened a case on the violation of laws of war over the possible hushing up of information about the outbreak.
