The crucial moment has come to decide on Ukraine's membership in the EU - Zelensky

The President held talks with the President of the European Council.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi discussed with the President of the European Council Charles Michel further effective assistance in the war with Russia.

In a post on Twitter, the head of state stressed that Ukrainians are now fighting heroically for their free future.

"The crucial moment has come to close the long-standing discussion once and for all and decide on Ukraine's membership in the EU," Volodymyr Zelensky said.

On the night of February 23-24, Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine. Russian troops have appeared not only in the Crimea and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions they have occupied since 2014, but also in peaceful cities controlled by the legitimate authorities.

The enemy is fighting in all directions: from the air, land and water. Russian President Vladimir Putin calls it a "military operation."

Ukraine calls on the world community to unite for help, because the war here is a war in Europe.

In response to Russia's brutal war, sanctions have been imposed, the Council of Europe has stripped Russia of its representation on the Committee of Ministers and the PACE, and Italy has said it will support the aggressor's exclusion from SWIFT.
