A powerful explosion took place in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv at about 8:50 p.m. According to the Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, it occurred near South Station.

The Kyiv City State Administration later confirmed that Russian terrorists launched an airstrike on the South Railway Station, from where thousands of Ukrainian women and children had been evacuated.

"The shell hit near the Ibis hotel, but the station building withstood and suffered only minor damages. Information about the victims is being clarified. Trains continue to operate," the statement said.
