Religious communities leaders in Bukovyna have prepared an appeal to world leaders to close the sky over Ukraine. It was reported by the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration. In particular, representatives of the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Jewish community, and others signed the document.More than a hundred volunteers of the Humanitarian Headquarters of Bukovina (Bukovina Assistance), territorial communities of the region, as well as Chernivtsi City Council and Chernivtsi Regional Council, have signed the same appeal yesterday, March 5.The document states that thousands of dead and injured children, women, the elderly, destroyed hospitals, schools, kindergartens - is the price of delay with the closure of the sky. People assure NATO to take action immediately.

It should be reminded that local councils across the country ask NATO to close the sky over Ukraine. Ukraine has been asking its partners to close the sky from Russian missiles and aircraft since the first day of a full-scale war started. The closure of the sky means that the sky is patrolled by military aircraft, the airspace is protected by air defense systems. When the sky is closed, all military aircraft that fly into a closed area are shot down.President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that closing the sky over Ukraine is not involving NATO countries in the war. He also called the decision of the NATO summit do not to close the sky over Ukraine "self-hypnosis" and a mistaken narrative of the Alliance.
