Macron discussed the inviolability of Ukraine's nuclear facilities with Putin and Zelenskyy

"I spoke today with President Putin and then with President Zelenskyy. We are working to preserve the integrity of Ukraine's civilian nuclear facilities, in addition to the priority demands to Russia: a ceasefire and protection of the civilians, "Macron tweeted on Sunday.

In the Elysee Palace added "the humanitarian situation in the country was also discussed. The President remains attentive to Ukraine's needs, and France will continue to increase its support in this area," European Pravda reported.

Earlier, the Elysee Palace said that during a conversation with Putin, Macron stated the absolute need to avoid any attack on the integrity of Ukraine's civilian nuclear facilities, Radio Liberty reports. The media also notes that after the conversation between the presidents of France and Russia, the Kremlin's website reported that "Putin informed in detail about the provocation staged by Ukrainian radicals in the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, with the involvement of a sabotage group." As a reminder, on 4 March the Russian troops fired at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the fire was extinguished.

The President's Office has not yet commented on the conversation between the French and Ukrainian presidents.

As a reminder, Ukraine is trying to persuade NATO to close the sky over Ukraine to stop shelling civilians, or at least to establish a no-fly zone over nuclear power plants, to avoid shells hitting nuclear reactors, which would cause a nuclear catastrophe. Instead, Vladimir Putin announced the shelling of Ukrainian defence-complex enterprises.
