New York painters demand a no-fly zone over Ukraine, as it defends itself from Russian aggression.

The artists launched hundreds of paper planes from each floor of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

The video was published on Facebook by Betty Roytburd, the daughter of Odesa-born painter Oleksandr Roytburd.

She wrote, "We, New York based artists and cultural workers are calling for a NO FLY ZONE OVER UKRAINE and for the end of Russia's war on Ukraine. We want to bring attention to the Russian targeting of nuclear power plants and are calling for the prevention of a world wide nuclear and humanitarian catastrophe!"

Ukraine has been asking its partners to close the sky from Russian missiles and aviation since the first day of the full-scale war. Closing the sky means military aviation is patrolling the sky, the airspace is protected by air defense. When the sky is closed, all the military aircraft that enter the no-fly zone are shot down.
