President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the title of Ukraine's Hero to 13 Ukraine defenders for defending against Russian aggression.
He reported this news in his evening appeal.
About awarding the title of Hero of Ukraine to 13 of our defenders:
Lieutenant Colonel Litun Andrii Mykolaiovych. Postmortem. He died covering our troops and heroically restraining the enemy's offensive.
Captain Korpan Oleksandr Bohdanovych. Postmortem. He saved our soldiers and civilian homes when he took away a crashing plane.
Lieutenant (junior grade) Blokha Yurii Ihorovych. Postmortem. In battles in the Mykolaiv area, heroically protected fellows, saving their lives.
Chief Sergeant Ivashko Andrii Oleksandrovych. Postmortem. During the rocket fire, he personally provided information about the enemy's actions at the cost of his life.
Sergeant (junior grade) Volkov Yevhenii Volodymyrovych. Postmortem. For courage and heroism during the evacuation of the wounded in the Donetsk region, for saving our military.
Major General Nikoliuk Viktor Dmytrovych. He skillfully led the defense in the north-eastern direction, thanks to which he managed to prevent the capture of Chernihiv.
Colonel Khoda Leonid Oleksiiovych. Under his command, more than 50 enemy vehicles were destroyed during the war.
Lieutenant Colonel Ponomarenko Viacheslav Anatoliiovych. Thanks to his actions, a significant number of equipment and military enemies were destroyed in the city of Hostomel.
Lieutenant Colonel Yakovenko Oleksandr Oleksiiovych. He withdrew his units from enemy artillery fire, thanks to which he retained personnel and continued to defend the Donetsk region successfully.
Major Bova Yevhenii Petrovych. For the heroic defense of Mariupol and holding positions in constant enemy attacks.
Capitan Boiechko Vasyl Vasyliovych. For the highly successful elimination of enemy equipment and human resources.
Sergeant Moroz Oleh Romanovych. The enemy's offensive in the Luhansk region was stopped thanks to his heroic deeds.
Seaman Samofalov Valerii Mykhailovych. In one battle, for the first time in the history of this war, he shot down three enemy helicopters at once.
I have also signed a decree to award medals "For Personal Courage" to 39 members of the National Guard, 31 policemen (9 of them postmortem), 14 state border guards(4 of them postmortem), 23 staff members of State Emergency Service of Ukraine," - added Zelenskyy.
Today, following people we awarded with the title brigadier general:
Nechaiev Oleh Oleksandrovych. For the successful defense of the Kyiv region.
Lishchynskyi Vladyslav Vatslavovych. For highly successful actions against the enemy in the Kherson region.
Hutsol Volodymyr Volodymyrovych. For the successful destruction of enemy airborne troops in Vasilkiv.
Demianchyk Hryhorii Petrovych. For the successful organization of personnel training for our military units.
Yesterday, Zelenskyy awarded the title of the Hero of Ukraine to 14 defenders of the state in war with Russia.
