On Saturday, March 12, the evacuation train came under fire near Sloviansk, Donetsk region. 

According to LB.ua sources, at 10.05 p.m., the occupiers shelled the evacuation train 261/262, which was going to Lyman, Kramatorsk district, to collect the passengers.

One conductor died, another one is in the hospital. 

The train was going to Lyman empty. There were only conductors, train electrician, and train chief on it.

Update: Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that the train to Lyman came under fire on the night of March 12-13.

"A passenger train was hit by debris near the Brusyn station in the Donetsk region. It was going on an evacuation route to Lyman to pick up residents of Luhansk and Donetsk regions who were in the zone of intense warfare," the statement said.

One of the train's conductors died from the inflictied injuries, and another was taken to a hospital in Slovyansk, where she is currently being treated.

Ukrzaliznytsia is working to evacuate the train crew of the damaged train and all passengers, including about 100 children waiting to evacuate from the Lyman train station.
