In Volnovakha, the Russian military killed the military chaplain of the OCU

The chaplain of the OCU (Orthodox Church of Ukraine), Abbot Platon (Morgunov), died at the hands of the russian military in Volnovakha in the Donetsk region.

The press service of the OCU announced it on the evening of 13 March 2022.

"With sadness, we received the information that in Volnovakha, russian invaders killed the military chaplain, Abbot Platon (Morgunov)," the statement said.

The OCU said that Abbot Platon was tonsured a monk in the St. Theodosius Monastery in Kyiv and served in St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery for a long time.

"Father Platon was a man of light and a good man. This is the way you will remain in our memory forever, Father. Let us pray for the peace of the servant of God, Abbot Platon, may the Lord rest his soul in His homes," the statement said.

On 5 March 2022, at a checkpoint near Fastov, occupiers killed the priest of OCU Rostyslav Dudarenko. It happened in his native village of Yasnohorodka of the Byshiv community.
