Ukrainian polar explorers will make online streams from Antarctica for children

The National Antarctic Scientific Center stated that polar explorers from the Academician Vernadskyy station would hold a series of open online meetings for Ukrainian children at ZOOM.

"In this difficult time, we want to support all Ukrainian children who are forced to see and experience the horrors of war. Participants of the Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition will talk about life and work on the icy continent, and if possible even show their main neighbours - penguins," the NANC said.

The meetings will begin on Tuesday, 15 March, and will last until Saturday, 19 March, from 02:00 to 03:00 pm Kyiv time.

"Any child or group of children can join the meetings with parents or teachers. In just a few hours, we received such an insane number of applications that have already reached the level of technical feasibility with the station, so now we have to close registration. Thank you for your understanding. We will surely announce the new streams from the station on our page. We also plan to publish a record of the most interesting streams," the centre said.

The Ukrainian polar explorers counted penguins living near Vernadsky Research Base. There are almost 3 thousand penguins, including 2,310 adults and 599 chicks.
