A British journalist was wounded as a result of the shelling of Russian troops - he suffered shrapnel fractures of his lower extremities. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova.
She did not give any other details of the incident, pointing out that it happened around 4 p.m. The name of the journalist is not mentioned either. But the name of the American TV channel Fox News is noted on the certificate made public by the Attorney General.
"I intend to focus in particular on those war crimes whose victims were citizens of our partner states. I understand that the issue is sensitive, but I expect that the leaders of the civilized world are thus more likely to dare to make the decision to close the sky.
I understand that statistics on Ukrainian casualties, for various reasons, do not prompt important military-political decisions. I am horrified at how the outside world might react to the war in Ukraine after a while - unfortunately, that's the way the world works. The conclusion is that only we can protect ourselves," - said Venediktova.
She reported that the foreign journalist was performing an editorial task not at a military facility. The Prosecutor General added that information about the crime was entered into the Single Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, and the proceedings will be investigated properly.
Yesterday Russian occupants killed American journalist Brent Reno in Irpen near Kiev. Another of his colleagues was wounded.
