The Russian occupiers directly hit agricultural machinery and undermine food security in Ukraine and the world.
Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense stated.
The aggressor fired a targeted air bomb at the places where agricultural machinery is stored on the night of March 13, in the settlements of Chupakhivka and Olenynske in the Sumy Region. As a result of the bombing, all equipment, more than 30 units, was destroyed.
"Systematic cases of such actions have been recorded in Brovary district (Kyiv region), Melitopol district (Zaporizhzhya region), Pryluky, Nizhyn, Novgorod-Siversky districts (Chernihiv region). In some districts of Kherson and Kharkiv regions," - Ukrainian intelligence said.
The occupiers are taking agricultural equipment massively from the population in order to conduct engineering work and build fortifications. They also use it as tractors for their armored vehicles. Residents of temporarily occupied settlements are forcibly involved in the work.
"There is deliberate destruction of agricultural equipment by the enemy. This will jeopardize the sowing campaign in the spring. Which can lead to a humanitarian crisis in some regions of our state. Not only Ukraine's food security is threatened. Our state is one of the main suppliers of many types of crops to the markets of Europe and China," - the Chief Directorate of Intelligence noted.
President Vladimir Zelensky said in a video address, on March 11 that despite the war, Ukraine will start the sowing campaign "as much as possible" as planned.
First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky noted that Ukraine has enough food reserves for domestic consumption.
