The Parliament of the Republic of Estonia has called on UN Member States to close the sky over Ukraine from the Russian aggressor, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, reported.

“This is the first decision from the parliament of a country member of the EU and NATO. Being the first is difficult, responsible, and honorable, he noted. - Therefore, from myself personally, from Ukrainian members of parliament, from all the people, I sincerely thank the Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia Jüri Ratas, and all MPs for their courage and devotion to Ukraine."

The Chairman of Verkhovna Rada believes that this decision should be an example of courage for the parliaments of other countries.

“Because members of parliament are the representatives of the people. And people of the world demand decisive actions to establish peace and close the sky over Ukraine,” he added.

Ukraine has been asking its partners to close our sky from Russian missiles since the first day of the full-scale war. The closing of the sky means that the sky is patrolled by military aviation, the airspace is protected by the air defense. When the sky is closed, any military aircrafts that enter the no-fly zone are shot down.

Yesterday, Oleksii Reznikov urged to close the sky in connection with the attack on the proving ground near Lviv, where international military instructors work.
