General Prosecutor Iryna Venediktova announced the exchange of war prisoners, which may occur soon. She told this during a telemarathon, RBK-Ukraina reports.
"I do not want to comment on what could harm the military because we may soon start exchanging war prisoners," Venediktova said.
It should be noted that during the Russian war against Ukraine, about 500-600 servicemen were taken war prisoners by the Ukrainians.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that a large number of the Russian occupiers' were taken war prisoners. Therefore, according to him, a particular structure had to be created to deal with them. Later, the Cabinet of Ministers set up a coordination headquarters for the treatment of prisoners, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
