President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law banning the production and dissemination of propaganda. These are materials aimed at promoting the actions of the state-aggressor. According to the bill's informational card on the Parliament's website, the signed document was returned to the Parliament the day before.

The law prohibits justifying, recognizing legitimate, or denying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. In particular, it cannot be represented as an internal conflict, civil conflict, civil war; the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine cannot be denied.

In addition, the prohibition includes the promotion and approval of activities or applications of:

people who conducted Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine,

representatives of the armed forces of the country-aggressor,

irregular, illegal armed groups,

armed gangs and groups of mercenaries created, subordinated, managed, and financed by Russia,

representatives of the occupation administration,

representatives of Russia's self-proclaimed authorities, including defining them as "insurgents," "militias," or "polite military men."

The law also includes banning public associations' and political parties' activities guilty of violating these prohibitions. Prohibitions will be enforced in court, and liability for breaking the law will be criminal.

The law becomes effective on the day following its publication.

Since the beginning of the military invasion of Russia, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine opened cases against the Russian propagandists.
