Despite the war, the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, who visited Kyiv with the heads of governments of the Czech Republic and Slovenia, addressed other European leaders to follow their example.
This was reported by "Evropeiska Pravda" with reference to an interview with Morawiecki on TVP Info.
The Prime Minister of Poland emphasized that it is crucial now that European leaders "visit Kyiv from time to time."
"I urge European leaders, the President of France, the Chancellor of Germany, and the Prime Minister of Great Britain to go to Kyiv, look into the eyes of crying mothers, look closely at the Ukrainian nation, strengthen their will to fight. I hope they respond to this appeal," Morawiecki said.
The prime minister was asked what Ukrainians repelling Russia's attack now need.
"They need our dear partners from the West to put their calculators in boxes, open their consciences and look at what is happening in the middle of Europe, in the third decade of the 21st century," Morawiecki said.
Prime Minister of Poland, Moravetsky, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, and Prime Minister of Czech Republic Petr Fiala and Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Jansa visited Kyiv on Tuesday, where they met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
They arrived in the Ukrainian capital despite heavy shelling by the Russian occupiers.
President Zelenskyy thanked the delegation for a visit and noted that it was crucial for Ukraine to receive support when Russian troops were shelling the capital. "I was glad to talk to them directly, face to face. When our Kyiv is a target for the occupiers, it is important and courageously to be right here with us, next to friends. This is how leadership is manifested!" Zelenskyy said in his video address.
"I invite all friends of Ukraine to visit Kyiv. It can be dangerous because our sky is not yet closed from Russian missiles and aircraft. The decision to strengthen our arsenal in the air has not yet been made. We have not received the aircraft. But you know that everybody in the world is looking at our capital, at Ukrainians now. So everyone who is with us will receive gratitude, not only ours but also from other nations. Everyone who is with us has a chance to become a real hero, "the President added.
