Ukrainian producers team up to create documentaries about the war

Ukrainian film and TV producers Volodymyr Borodyanskiy, Viktor Mirskiy, Daria Legoni-Fialko, Alla Lypovetska, Iryna Zarya, Maryna Kvasova, and Ihor Storchak have established a new alliance. Suspilne broadcaster informs about this referring to the Facebook post of Borodyanskiy.

The alliance aims to produce documentaries and educational films and series to tell the world about the war of Russia against Ukraine, its origins, causes, and potential consequences. It is reported that the process of selection of applications, as well as production and creative teams, has already started.

According to Borodyanskiy, filmmakers, who want to join, should contact one of the seven co-founders. There are no restrictions on the types and formats of the future product. The decision to select and finance each idea will be made by a simple majority of votes.

To launch the initiative, each co-founder made a personal contribution of one million hryvnyas. The team attracts Ukrainian and foreign investors and donors from their networks of contacts.

“The alliance does not aim to make any profit until the complete liberation of Ukraine from the Russian aggressor troops and the final victory. All funds received from the co-founders of the alliance, as well as foundations, patrons, philanthropists, and distribution of created products, will be reinvested into new initiatives,” the co-founders say.

The team plans to release the first projects in a few months and seeks to engage as many media industry employers as possible, creating new jobs during these difficult times.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Film Academy expelled Ukrainian Director Serhiy Loznytsya for participating in a Russian film festival.
