Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I has accepted the invitation from Polish President Andrzej Duda to visit his country to support Ukrainian refugees.
This is stated in the communiqué of the General Secretariat of the Holy Synod of the Church of Constantinople, published by Archbishop Evstratiy (Zoria), Deputy Head of the External Church Relations Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
“Ecumenical Patriarch announced that the President of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Andrzej Duda, has officially invited His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I to visit his homeland to bless, comfort, and strengthen the countless number of refugees who came to the country since the beginning of war in Ukraine,” the Patriarchate of Constantinople reports.
Patriarch Bartholomew I has also received an invitation from the Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw. His Holiness intends to accept the invitation and visit the temporary shelters for refugees accompanied by Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and
