Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed the French parliament and urged them to give Ukraine more weapons for defending against Russia and to impose more economical sanctions on the occupier country.
The head of the Ukrainian state has announced that what he expects from France is leadership that would make Russia look for peace.
Zelenskyy has thanked France and its president Emmanuel Macron for their help.
“Ukrainians can see that France also values freedom, as it has always been. And you are defending it. You remember what is liberty, equality and fraternity. Each of these words is full of power for you. This is why we expect you, France, your leadership, to make sure that Russia looks for peace and ends this war against liberty, equality, and fraternity – against everything that has made Europe one whole,” the president of Ukraine has stated.
Also, he has offered France to become one of the security guarantors.
“We need guarantees that the security will be unshakable, and there really will be no war. Wars in general will be impossible. We are creating a system of guarantees, a new system of security in which France, I believe, will have a leading role,” Zelenskyy has said.
The president of Ukraine insists that now we need a new package of sanctions against Russia from France’s side.
“French companies have to leave the Russian market. Renault, Auchan, Leroy Merlin and others have to stop being sponsors for the Russian war machine. Human values cost more than income made on blood,” Zelenskyy has said.
Earlier today Volodymyr Zelenskyy also addressed the Japanese parliament. In his speech the main emphasis was placed on the nuclear danger that Russia has created in Ukraine, and on creating a new security system in the world.
