Pfizer oral anti-COVID medication to be manufactured in Ukraine - Ministry of Health

Oral anti-COVID Phizer medication will be developed and manufactured in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health reports.

“Darnytsia” pharmaceutical company won the competition. On March 18, they signed a license agreement.

“Ukrainian pharmaceutical company can manufacture the medicine and supply it to 95 countries worldwide with low and medium income, including Ukraine,” said the Ministry of Health.

The drug is intended to treat patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 who are at high risk of complications, the ministry said.

The oral anti-COVID Phizer medication is also used to prevent the disease from getting worse and progressing from mild to a moderate level and prevent hospitalization.

Since February, Ukrainians arriving from other countries can enter the country without COVID tests and quarantine.

In January 2022, Phizer CEO, Albert Bourla, said that the coronavirus causing COVID-19 would be circulating for years to come, however, the current wave is likely to be the last one to require restrictive measures.
