If the war develops under the worst-case scenario and the Russians win, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not leave the country and will fight to the end.
The head of state said this in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
"Each of us is a president and each of us is a warrior. We will all fight to the end," he said.
Asked by reporters if he was afraid of being killed by a Russian hypersonic missile that Russia had already used in Ukraine, the Ukrainian president said:
"I am afraid of only one thing: that in the 21st century one of the largest countries in Europe may be wiped out of existence. But the world will not allow it. Evil cannot prevail, it is against common sense, against life itself, against nature itself," he said.
As for the hectic schedule during the war, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he always didn’t sleep much and "is used to such a schedule, it is not a problem".
"But I would like to communicate with my family more, it's true. But it will definitely be so," the President of Ukraine assured.
