Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on Russia’s demands to Ukraine to end the war. He stated that Ukraine could not fulfill them, as it would have to sacrifice all Ukrainians. He said this in an interview for Suspilne.
“Ukraine cannot fulfill Russia’s ultimatum. They have to destroy all of us first, then their ultimatum will be fulfilled. We would have to sacrifice Kharkiv, Mariupol, or Kyiv. Neither the inhabitants of these cities nor I can do this”, stated Zelenskyy.
The official negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are being held almost every day. The online format was also planned for today. The fourth round of Ukraine-Russia negotiations about peace was conducted on March 14th.
Ukrainian demands are ceasefire, withdrawal of troops, and firm security guarantees. Russian demands are recognizing the occupation of Crimea, the independence of LNR/DNR, no NATO membership, demilitarisation of Ukraine.
