Zelenskyy in his address to EU on Ukraine's membership in European Union: "Don't be late"

The President of Ukraine stated this in a video address to the European Council and the peoples of Europe.

You have blocked "North Stream - 2". We are grateful. This was the right thing to do. But it was also it was done a little late. Because if it had been done in time, Russia would not have created a gas crisis. At least there was a chance. And now we are preparing Ukraine's membership in the European Union. Finally. I am asking you - do not be late. Please," - he said.

The President listed the EU countries and told their views on Ukraine's membership.

He mentioned Germany and Hungary for their positions on the issue and mentioned the memorial to the massacres in Budapest.

"I was on that riverbank. I saw this memorial ... Shoes on the Danube bank. About the massacres. I was with my family. Listen, Victor (Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary - LB.ua), do you know what is happening in Mariupol? Please, if you can, visit that riverbank. Have a look at those shoes. And you will see how mass murders can be repeated in the modern world. And that's what Russia is doing today.

The same shoes. In Mariupol, there are the same people. Adults and children. Grandmas and grandpas. And there are thousands of them. And these thousands are gone. And you are hesitating whether to implement sanctions or not. And you are hesitating whether let the transfer of weapons happen or not. And you are hesitating whether to trade with Russia or not. There is no time to hesitate. It's time to decide," - said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We believe in you. We need your support. We believe in your people (Hungary, - LB.ua). We believe in the European Union. And we believe that at the crucial moment, Germany will also be with us," he added.
