60% of Russian high-precision missiles did not reach a target - Washington

High-precision missiles used by Russia against Ukrainian objects have about a 60% failure rate. This means the missiles failed to launch or did not explode on impact, reports Reuters citing American officials who have access to intelligence.

The U.S. officials who spoke to Reuters anonymously did not say why the russian missiles have such a high failure rate.

According to the Pentagon, Russia launched over 1100 missiles of all types since the beginning of the war. The officials did not say how many of those met a target and how many didn't. American intelligence says that the failure rate varies every day, depending on the missile type and can be as high as 60%.

One of the officials who spoke to Reuters said that russian air-launched cruise missiles had a failure rate between 20% and 60%, depending on the day. Two experts consulted by Reuters confirmed that a failure rate over 20% is considered high.

One of the agency's interlocutors said that during the strike on the Yavoriv training center, the missile failure rate was exceptionally high.

Russian attacks Ukraine daily using the so-called high-precision missiles. Notably, on March 24, the enemy launched two missiles on the military site on the outskirts of Dnipro.
