The Russian military started having problems with funding. There is not enough money for neither regular troops nor mercenaries of private military companies.
Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported.
"After the promised payments to the military of the occupying army, the Russian military had problems with funding. As it turned out, the payment of these costs is not provided in the budget in any way. And given the unsatisfactory state of the financial system of the Russian Federation due to the imposed sanctions, it is impossible to find additional funds in the budget," the intelligence said.
After the payment of the "business trip" allowance for the war against Ukraine in February, the military units in the occupied Crimea ran out of money. There is no money left to pay for March.
"The situation is similar with the payment of Russian mercenaries from the private military company participation in the war. Among them, cases of refusal to go to Ukraine are becoming more frequent. The reason is the non-fulfillment of the terms of the concluded contracts. Militants do not receive funds for participation in hostilities, compensation for injuries and promised "social guarantees," defence intelligence said.
As reported earlier, due to high personnel losses, Russia planned to recruit fighters from private military companies and mercenaries from other countries, including Syria. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was aware of these plans.
