Canada has announced sanctions against 160 members of the Russian Federation Council for facilitating and enabling violations of Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

This is stated on the website of the Government of Canada.

Imposing in the coming days new prohibitions on the export of certain goods and technologies to Russia, with the aim of undermining and eroding the capabilities of the Russian military.

In addition, the second tranche was allocated for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and neighboring countries. $50 million will go to the World Food Programme, the World Health Organization (WHO), the UN Refugee Agency, the Canadian Red Cross and People in Need.

$4.8 million has been allocated to UNESCO for the protection of Ukraine's cultural and heritage sites.

Canada imposed new sanctions against the Belarusian leadership because of support of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Restrictions were imposed on State Duma deputies who voted for the recognition of the independence of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, a ban on transactions with Russia's sovereign debt, and sanctions against two major Russian banks.
