Authorities say situation in Volyn region under control

Situation in Volyn region is under control, our military is ready for any scenario and is in full combat readiness. 

UNIAN reports, that Head of Volyn Regional Military Administration [MRA] Yuriy Pogulyayko said this during the telethon. 

Pohulyayko answered the question about the readiness of their region to repel possible attack by Belarus:

"As of March 26, situation in the region remains secure. Our borders are well protected and under control of our military. There is information about possible invasion of Belarus. I want to say that we absolutely trust our Armed Forces. The military in Volyn is ready for any scenario and is in full combat readiness. " 

Pohulyayko added that the region has medical institutions, pharmacies and all critical infrastructure.

In addition, Head of MRA said that during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, their region has already received almost 34,000 internally displaced persons. 

"For some of them Volyn is transit region, but many people remain, including children," Pohulyayko said, adding that another 10,000 migrants can be accommodated in the region currently.

On March 26, the General Staff announced that enemy doesn’t carry out an offensive in Volyn direction, but there was a withdrawal from the permanent deployment points of the Belarusian Armed Forces.

On March 24, Ukraine reduced the staff of Belarusian embassy to five persons in response to hostile actions against Ukrainian diplomatic staff in Minsk and Brest.
