Russians continue militarization of ChNPP, which could lead to radioactive dust contamination in European countries

The occupiers set up a transport corridor and an ammunition depot in Pripyat and Chernobyl, including obsolete ones that could detonate at any time.

Russian troops continue to militarize the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. This increases the risk of damaging the insulation structures built over the station's fourth unit after the 1986 explosion.

The damage will inevitably lead to a significant amount of radioactive dust filling the atmosphere and infecting not only Ukraine but also other European countries. This is stated in the report by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Pavliuk.

“Russian occupation forces ignore threats and warnings and continue to transport and store significant amounts of ammunition in the immediate vicinity of the nuclear power plant. Dozens of tons of rockets, artillery shells and mortar ammunition are transported daily by units of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from the logistics base deployed in the Narovlya district of the Gomel region of Belarus,” he said.

The Russian transport corridor passes through Pryp'yat', a few hundred meters from the isolation structures. Further ammunition is stored in the city of Chernobyl, near the city of Pryp'yat', which is also a short distance from the nuclear power plant.

"Such self-detonation of ammunition in Russian military depots and arsenals are well known and occur regularly," said the head of the RMA.

In general, the Defense Forces of the region continue to systematically inflict losses on the enemy in all directions.

Recall that the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is under enemy occupation. 10,000 hectares of forest are burning in the exclusion zone, which poses a threat to radiation in Ukraine, Belarus and European countries..
