The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Norway to provide anti-ship missiles Harpun, Nasams air defense system, anti-tank missiles and artillery.
During his speech for the Parliament of Norway, Storting, the President admitted that the future of Europe is being defined right now in Ukraine, on its land and in its sky.
“The Freedom should be armed no less than tyranny. I will be very precise in this place, inside your walls. Please believe me, our people are being killed, our cities are being destroyed. That is why I want to tell you exactly what we require. These are anti-ship missiles HARPUN and air defense systems NASAMS. Apart from that, we require artillery and weapons against armored vehicles. All weapons that you will share will be used to protect our freedom and your freedom. Only to protect the freedom which you and the rest of Europe have,” – highlighted the President.
The President added that Russia had accumulated as large as newer before amount of armed forces in the arctic region.
The Russian Federation continues to relocate new forces into Ukraine to keep killing Ukrainians. That is why Zelenskyy asked to do more to stop the war. And in parallel to the increase of weapons supplies, it is necessary to increase the sanctions against Russia. Zelenskyy insists that the restriction measures should be applied daily.
Zelenskyy asked Norwegian company MOTUS TECH and others to stop supporting the russian ability to attack its neighbors.
“Is it possible to supply Russia with ship’s equipment, when they use their fleet to place mines in the sea and kill freedom of sailing? European Union and Norway have to ban russian ships to use ports all over the continent. While Russia is blocking our ports, it shouldn’t have the right to use any port of the free world,” – said the President.
“Ukrainians gathered themselves to fight back the aggression. They protect our country, our way of life, democratic, free, which grants full protection of human rights and freedom for every woman and man. The price which Ukrainians pay is enormously high. It is known that more than 145 children were killed, this is the only officially confirmed number. There is no ability to calculate the amount of dead in the regions that were occupied. It is possible that hundreds of children were killed. Just think about it! – hundreds of children. Just children,” – said the President
Zelenskyy proposed Norway join the program of rehabilitation of civilians and soldiers that suffer from the war.
“Today I ask you to join our project for the reconstruction of Ukraine. We have gained colossal losses, but this means that the amount of investment into reconstruction will be also colossal. As one of the most responsible investors in the world, Norway could do much to return stability to Eastern Europe,” – said the President.
Norway after the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine agreed to provide 2000 antitank rocket launchers. It is the first time since the 50th this country has decided to provide weaponry to a country that is not part of NATO.
