Russian troops continue to concentrate their attacks on Ukraine in four directions, including the capital Kyiv, on Thursday a high-ranking representative of the U.S. Department of Defense told about it the journalists.
According to the official, the airstrikes inflicted by the Russians are primarily aimed at Kyiv, Chernihiv, Izium (Kharkiv region), and Donbas.
"We have seen the Russians continue to increase the number of departures of their combat aviation. During the last day, there were more than 300 departures. Their attacks are focused on Kyiv, Chernihiv, Izium, which we talked about earlier, south of Kharkiv, as well as the area of the Special Operations Forces - Donbas. These are four directions where they inflict most of their carrier-based strikes," - said the official.
The representative of the Pentagon stressed that "Kyiv is still under threat of airstrikes," despite Russia's comments on leaving the area.
Russia attacks Ukraine with air missiles of various types - cruise missiles "Caliber" and Х-55, as well as "Iskander" missiles.
Earlier, according to the Pentagon, 60% of Russian high-precision missiles did not hit the target.
