As of the morning of April 4, more than 425 children have been injured in Ukraine because of the armed aggression by the russian federation. A total of 161 children have been killed, and at least 264 have been injured.
These data are not final, as work is underway to establish the numbers for places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories – in particular, in the city of Mariupol, in certain territories of Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Luhansk regions, the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General mentioned.
To date, it was officially established that children were most affected in Kyiv (75), Donetsk (78), Kharkiv (59), Chernihiv (49), Mykolayiv (34), Luhansk (31), Zaporizhzhia (22), Kherson (29), Kyiv city (16), Sumy (16), and Zhytomyr (15) regions.
In particular, on April 2, a 9-year-old child was injured during the shelling by the russian occupiers in the city of Vugledar, Donetsk region. On April 3, as a result of the attack of Mykolayiv, 11 people were injured, of them one child.
In addition, on April 3, three children were injured in the shelling of Kharkiv.
Bombing and shelling damaged 869 educational institutions, 83 of them were completely destroyed.
