Currently, there are about 600 Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine.

The Deputy Prime Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, announced it on a joint telemarathon.

"When we talk about the total number, there are about 600 of them now," - she said. "You know, we have to build a special camp in accordance with international law."

Iryna Vereshchuk noted that the issue of a large number of prisoners of war was discussed at a meeting with government officials.

"We talked about how to force russia to allow the Red Cross to attend to Ukrainians kept prisoners, about how to force russia to release the prisoners," - she said. "Some of them have been detained in Donetsk and Luhansk regions since 2014, including women."

On 1 April 2022, Ukraine and russia exchanged prisoners. As a result, 86 Ukrainian militaries, including 15 women, were released.

Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, taken out of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant by the russian occupiers, are probably on the territory of russia in Smolensk and Bragin (Belarus).
