At 17:09 the occupiers again hit a tanker with 4 tons of non-concentrated nitric acid, near Rubizhne in the Luhansk region.
That was announced by the Head of Luhansk RMA (Region Military Administration) Serhiy Hayday.
He urged people not to come out of shelters, if they are indoors they should close doors and windows and prepare protective face masks soaked with a soda liquor.
According to Hayday, there is no threat to the life of people.
“The Russians do not know how to fight - they did not even estimate the wind direction. The cloud spread towards their positions near Kudriashivka and Varvarivka,” - the Head of the RMA added.
He reminded us that nitric acid is dangerous if inhaled or swallowed, and if it comes into contact with skin and mucous membranes.
“Acid fumes irritate the respiratory tract. In case of mild poisoning, there are symptoms of bronchitis, mild bronchiolitis, dizziness, somnolence; in case of severe poisoning - pulmonary edema. Gas masks are used to protect against nitric acid fumes and mist,” the report said.
In contact with the eyes, nitric acid causes severe damage with lesions and extensive necrosis of the cornea and conjunctiva, leading to vision loss.
The first time, the Russian military hit a tank with nitric acid in Rubizhne on 5 April.
