The main efforts of the occupant are focused on capturing Mariupol and launching an offensive near the town of Izium. It is reported in the operative brief of the General Staff at 18.00 on 9 April.
“The probability of the enemy to use diversion intelligence groups to carry out sabotage actions at the transport infrastructure facilities remains high,” said the General Staff.
The enemy continues missiles attacks on civil facilities within the entire territory of Ukraine.
At the Volyn, Polissya, and Siversk directions, no significant changes in the composition and location of the troops have been noticed.
In Slobozhanshchyna, the enemy continues a partial siege of the city of Kharkiv. To ensure the secret movement of the occupant’s units on the territory of the Kharkiv region, the enemy uses radio-electronic muting of the mobile communication network. To accumulate its grouping of troops, the enemy has relocated up to two battalion tactical groups of the enemy from the Belgorod region to the area of Shevchenkove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy continues assault actions. The main efforts of the occupants are focused on gaining control over the settlements of Rubizhne, Popasna, and Novobakhmutivka. Along with that, the invaders continue air raids on the settlements of Vuhledar and Novoselivka Druha. They try to launch a new offensive in the areas of Novotoshkinske, Stepne, and Maryinka.
In the direction of Pivdennyy Bug, the occupants continue trying to hold the positions and the frontiers at the administrative border of the Kherson region. “Ukrainian defenders are holding the defense line and are gradually pushing the enemy’s troops in some directions,” stated the General Staff.
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian defenders hold up to 10 thousands of russian troops in Mariupol. And their further movement of the enemy will depend on whether Mariupol stays.
