"Ukraine is a crime scene. We are here because we have reasonable grounds to believe that committed crimes fall under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. We must break through the fog of war to get to the truth," - wrote Karim Khan.

Earlier, after the liberation of the cities of the Kyiv region from the Russian troops, the scale of atrocities that were committed by the occupiers over the local population opened. Especially in Bucha, the bodies of killed people lay right in the middle of the street. Many of them were with bound hands. Also in the city, 280 peaceful people were buried in a mass grave. These events were called the Bucha massacre.

After publishing evidence of war crimes committed by Russian troops in Bucha, Germany offered to establish a tribunal to punish the guilty, similar to what existed in Yugoslavia.

On April 4, Ukrainian intelligence published a list of invaders responsible for atrocities in Bucha.
