The war in Ukraine could throw more than 1/5 of humanity into poverty, destitution, and hunger on a scale not seen for decades. This was stated by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Twitter.
"The only lasting solution to the war and its impact on the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world is peace," - Guterres wrote.
Earlier the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reported that the world prices for food products in March broke a record due to the war of Russia against Ukraine.
