Google has disabled russian payment cards. This was announced by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
"You can not pay with any type of russian card. The subscription with phone payments was also canceled," - the statement said.
In addition, Fedorov said that Google will no longer monetize Russian content that spreads lies about the war in Ukraine. The termination of monetization also applies to content that denies the tragic events.
"Such a decision will hit russian propagandists hard. Although YouTube stopped monetizing in russia on February 26, Google services continued to work," - Fedorov said.
Earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Google experts launched a project to digitize the consequences of russian invasion in the destroyed cities of Ukraine.
