The Pentagon disclosed the subject of its new military aid package for Ukraine of $800 m that US President Joe Biden announced.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby gave the details.

According to him, delivery of weapons within the aid package for Ukraine, estimated at $800 m, starts immediately. The UAF will get

  • 11 helicopters Mi-8/Mi-17 of Soviet production,

  • 18 “155mm” howitzers and 40,000 artillery rounds,

  • 200 M113 armored personnel carriers,

  • 500 American modern Javelin anti-armor missiles,

  • 300 Switchblade drones

  • 10 AN/TPQ-3G counter-artillery radars,

  • 2 AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel air surveillance radars,

  • 100 armored multi-purpose vehicles,

  • M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel mines.

Moreover, the package includes coastal defense vessels, explosives, chemical, biological, and nuclear protective equipment, 30,000 sets of body armor and helmets, over 2,000 devices of scope and laser sights as well as medical devices.

The spokesman said that the Ukrainian side participated in tailoring the list and corrected it in order to meet the needs of the military activities in the south and east of the country.

The helicopters of Soviet production, by Kirby, had to go to the armed forces of Afghanistan in the summer of 2021 but that failed because of the fall of President Ashraf Ghani’s regime.

Earlier, President Joe Biden announced the US to send to Ukraine the gun systems, shells, armored personnel carriers, and helicopters for struggling russian aggression.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his latest speech named the list of weapons that are necessary to stop the rf.
