On Wednesday, the European Union approved an additional 500 m. euros in military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by the European Council.
An additional 500 million euros will increase the total financial assistance from the European Union for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to 1.5 billion euros, the statement said.
500 million euros will be spent on personal protective equipment, military equipment, fuel and first aid kits, the report said.
"The coming weeks will be decisive. As russia prepares for an offensive in eastern Ukraine, it is very important that we continue and strengthen our military support for Ukraine to protect its territory and population and prevent further suffering," said Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
On March 21 Borrell announced the allocation of an additional 500 million euros to Ukrain.
On April 10 Borrell reported that he received from the Ukrainain govrnment a list of the necessary weapos to resist the military invasion of the russian federation. He also said he was convening an EU Military Committee to discuss supplies.
